The Cloud is transforming the way the world does business — communication is no exception. Sunco is proud to offer Voice for Business, our fully hosted solution which combines the power of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and Cloud technology to give you a cost-effective mobile workforce and deliver a better customer service experience.

What is Cloud Communication?

More than ever, traditional phone systems are being replaced with simple, cost-effective alternatives that use the Internet to transmit and store data. Cloud communication seamlessly incorporates the functions of cell phones, office phones and desktop computers into one easy-to-use system. Companies can work with more freedom and flexibility than ever before, increasing productivity and decreasing operational costs.

How does it work?

Instead of relying on the public telephone network, your company’s voice and multimedia communications will all happen online. With VoIP technology, you can connect multiple devices (including fax machines and smartphones) and access the system from any location with an Internet connection. Our systems use top-of-the line Mitel technology to bring you an impressive range of features.

Unlike some of our competitors, we host your data on Sunco’s servers right here in Alberta — not across the border where there could be an increased security risk. Plus, there is no need to set up or maintain any complicated hardware at your place of business. Getting started with a VoIP system is as easy as plugging it in. We’ll help you choose the best phones and features for your needs from an extensive range of feature rich communication products.

We know it can be frustrating to deal with large call centres based outside of Canada. That’s why our service and support is 100 percent local.  In-person help is only a phone call away. Training, software upgrades and IT support are also included in our low-cost fixed monthly fee.

Why Voice for Business?

The future of effective business communication is in mobility and integration, and Voice for Business makes it easy to achieve both. With low monthly fees and off-site hosting, there is no need to make a major capital investment or to pay for multiple communication channels. Our combination of VoIP and Cloud technology creates a feature-rich system that is efficient and easily scalable as your business grows. You’ll benefit from a newly mobile workforce and deliver a better experience for your clients.

Voice for Business is the high-value, low-cost solution for companies that want to:

  • Upgrade old or obsolete phones,
  • Switch some communications to the Cloud (a hybrid system), or
  • Create a brand new, customized system.

There are some important differences between Voice for Business 9-1-1 service compared with traditional telephone 9-1-1 emergency service.  Please read Sunco’s 9-1-1 Terms and Conditions for more information.

FAQs

At its core, VoIP is the conversion of voice signal into data. Unlike a traditional phone line, which sends voice transmissions via an analog (or telephone) line, Sunco’s VoIP system converts that voice signal into data which is transmitted via ‘the Cloud’. But that’s just to the tip of the iceberg - there are so many advantages to VoIP that will help create the flexibility and mobility that your business needs to flourish.
The Cloud isn’t floating around somewhere above us. Every company that offers a Cloud service has physical computer servers that store data in a central location. This allows users to access their files from any device. As an example, instead of storing photos on an external hard drive, you can now store them ‘on the Cloud’ and access them from your computer, phone or tablet at any time.
Instead of using traditional phone lines to transmit information, Cloud communication providers host telecom applications, switching and storage on central servers and clients access their network over the Internet. This has a lot of advantages, from cheap (or free) long distance calls, to increased mobility and decreased infrastructure costs. In choosing Sunco, your data is hosted on servers right here in Alberta.
You can stay connected to your business from any device in any location. The best way to get a sense of the power of Cloud communication is to look at an example: Imagine that your office phone rings while you are off-site. You answer on your twinned personal cell phone and the charge is covered by your company’s contract. While you are talking with your client, another call goes to voicemail and you immediately receive an email transcript of the message. The length of your ongoing call is recorded and the client is billed accordingly. Cloud-based systems are easy, seamless, effective and less expensive.
Sunco works in partnership with Mitel and Panasonic, global leaders in business communication software, hardware, and services. Mitel desk sets are next generation IP phones with a range of high quality features including touch screens and LCD graphic displays. Sunco also supports Legacy Systems — ask us about integrating your current hardware with Cloud technology.
A private branch exchange (PBX) is the telephone network used within a company for internal and external calls. If you’ve ever ‘dialed 9 to get out’, you’ve used a PBX. A Cloud PBX phone system is the same kind of network, hosted online (‘on the Cloud’) instead of via traditional telephone lines and cables.
It’s as easy as picking the phone and features you need, and plugging into our Cloud-based network. Sunco is here to help with every step of the process, from communication design to installation, training, and support. Ready to get started? Request a quote now.
